How Bale Weight Guarantees Work

When selling forage by the ton, sellers can choose the types of bale weight guarantees they would like to offer to the buyer.  With both the guarantees listed below the bales are initially purchased based on the estimated bale weight.

1.  Tru-Weight Guarantee

With the True Weight Guarantee buyers have the option to weigh the bales they purchased after picking them up.  Whether this is done by the seller, a hauler, or themselves, a scale ticket is submited to TruBid along with an empty scale ticket.  If the actual total weight is less than the estimated total weight, TruBid will issue the buyer a refund for the difference including any commission or sales tax associated with that difference.  With the Tru-Weight Guarantee option the SELLER will be acessed a Tru-Weight Guarantee reimbursment fee to cover the adminstration costs associated with this reimbursment.

2.  10% Weight Guarantee

With the 10% Weight Guarantee buyers also have the option to weigh the bales they purchased after picking them up.  Again, whether this is done by the seller, a hauler, or themselves, a scale ticket is submited to TruBid along with an empty scale ticket.   If the actual total weight is more than 10 percent under the estimated total weight TruBid will issue the buyer a refund for the difference including any commission or sales tax associated with that difference.  With the 10% Guarantee option the BUYER will be acessed a 10% Guarantee reimbursment fee to cover the adminstration costs associated with this reimbursment.
